Case Study: Bringing Live Performances to Remote Audiences at Cankarjev Dom

Cankarjev dom is Slovenia's largest cultural and congress centre, and the events held there — performances, concerts, conferences — call for a different kind of production than a corporate briefing or a sports match.

The challenge. Cultural events are unforgiving of anything that looks like a broadcast intruding on the room. Camera operators need to work without distracting performers or the live audience, while still capturing footage worth watching for the people following online.

Our approach. We shoot with our Sony Cinema Line cameras positioned for minimal visual and physical footprint, mix audio carefully to preserve the live sound of a performance rather than flattening it, and keep the crew's presence as unobtrusive as the venue requires.

The result. Cankarjev dom remains one of vzivo's ongoing venue partnerships, extending performances and events at Slovenia's premier cultural venue to audiences who can't be in the room.
