Behind the Gear: The Camera and Streaming Kit We Bring to Every Shoot

The equipment behind a livestream matters less than the story it tells, but it's still worth pulling back the curtain on what's actually in the bag.

Our current camera line up is built around Sony's Cinema Line cameras, paired with Sony lenses, feeding into professional video mixers for live switching between angles. Depending on the event, we run anywhere from one to five cameras — enough for an intimate panel discussion or a full multi-angle broadcast of a conference main stage.

On the transport side, we don't rely on a single connection. Streams go out over RTMP and RTMPS, with SRT and SRT-LR as low-latency, error-resistant alternatives for venues with less reliable networks — then out to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and LinkedIn simultaneously where needed.

None of this is about chasing the newest gear for its own sake. Every piece of the kit — cameras, lenses, mixers, and streaming protocols — earns its place because it's been tested across close to 40 live broadcasts a month, in venues that range from EU meeting rooms to sports arenas.

Good gear doesn't guarantee a good broadcast. But the wrong gear will guarantee a bad one — which is why we're deliberate about every piece of it.
